The knees are often injured in car accidents because of how we are postitioned while driving. You could imagine the steering wheel, console/dash and doors all in very close proximity to your knees while in a vehicle and a sudden collision from any side could cause damage to the knee ligaments and muscles. Common injuries to the liagments in the knee include tears to the ACL, MCL, PCL and meniscus.

Common symptoms of knee pain include swelling and stiffness, weakness and instability, and difficulty fully straightening the knee. The pain can result from issues within the knee joint or conditions affecting the surrounding soft tissues, such as ligaments, tendons, or bursae. The severity of knee pain can range from a mild, temporary twinge to intense, debilitating discomfort that interferes with work and everyday life.

Injury and accidents are the leading causes of knee pain that we have seen at County Line Chiropractic. That injury could have been from a car accident, a slip and fall at work, or on the basketball court. Tendonitis and arthritis are other causes of knee pain, which could stem from an accident injury, excessive use or medical issues.

Our team will use a variety of patient proven methods to treat your knee injury, including: ice and heat, stretching, ultrasound, electrical stimulation and muscle strengthening exercises. Every patient receives a custom treatment plan that is flexible based on how you respond to it.

After a brief consultation regarding your knee pain and injury, related accident and history, we will perform a complete neurological and physical examination to determine the extent of damage. X-Ray and MRI studies may be done to assist in proper diagnosis. A report of findings will be done with you to go over your injury and in-office and at-home treatment plans.
